Wisdom Teeth Extractions
The third molars are called 'Wisdom Teeth', and they are located in the very back of the mouth. Wisdom Teeth often emerge between 17-25 years old, although not everyone has them. When wisdom teeth grow in healthy and without causing problems, they can be a valuable asset to the mouth. However, most times, they become 'impacted'. Impacted means that the tooth is wedged in between the bone and the tooth in front of it, preventing it from erupting. When this happens, it can cause serve discomfort or pain.
In order to relieve this pain, Dr. Urling can go in and surgically remove the teeth. He will numb around the teeth using local anesthesia that will help alleviate any pain during the procedure. It is common to have swelling and discomfort following the procedure, and these symptoms will go away within a few days.
